Students are made in the image of God!
I like what Graham says on p. 72, “An artist (a creative person) is a passionate person who feels deeply the tragedy and beauty of life; who appreciates shapes, sounds, and textures; who selects and molds thoughts and materials with a sense of excitement about being involved. Does this not characterize God? Why then shouldn’t this passion characterize a human being’s approach to all of life?”
This reminds me of a book called "Hidden Art” by Edith Schaeffer...
About p. 80, We don’t always notice, and our students are not always
aware of how their leadership through peer influence can change the culture of
their classroom and their generation… Teaching the students to be creative and
purposeful in culture shaping is part of ruling well. We have to consider that the image is marred too, p. 89 “Our culture creating is as perverted as
our personal behavior.”
p. 91, “Western humanism has long been prominent in
promoting the view that we can be secure only in ourselves. There is no divine
purpose for human life… no deity will save them…”
They will be seeking to find identity and security in destructive ways,
they come into our classroom in this state.
The first video is a clip from a longer message, "How Great is Our God" by Louie Giglio, telling us how amazing it is that we are made in God's image, considering the galaxy. Just think, not just us, not just people with their act together- our students are made in the image of God, though it has been twisted by our sin.
The second clip is simpler, just words and piano, but a little inspiration on the way a teacher views students.
